(902) 210-9896 info@coveandseacabin.com A bit about the 'Discovering Durell's Island' Daytrip: An island so close to mainland yet somehow making you feel miles away! We will depart from Canso wharf/waterfront and begin our circumnavigation hugging the shore. Shortly after our departure we will be saying farewell to the boats and buildings that adorn the village's waterfront as we enter into territory with unobstructed Atlantic Ocean views. Keep a keen eye out for seals, otters, porpoises and even whales as we sneak our way between rocks and discover hidden crevices that scar the island. The vastness and character of the billowing granite will have us "ditching" the kayaks to do some exploring on foot and enjoy a snack & cup of tea with a million dollar view. Back in the boats we will continue to weave our way along the shore admiring the copious amount of seabird species and the translucency of the sea below. Locating an ideal lunch location will be no trouble at all. While your guide(s) sets up for lunch, you are welcome to explore! After everyone is fed and has had time to scout/swim/snorkel/relax, we will hop back in our kayaks. Time and group permitting, we can cross from Durell's Island over to Piscatiqui Island for a final highlight before crossing back over to mainland.
